"Human Rights Challenges in
Contemporary Latin America"

Guatemalan human rights lawyer and CLAS visiting scholar Mynor Melgar gave a public lecture on human rights in Latin America on Thursday March 9. Melgar has worked on a number of prominent human rights cases, including the murder of human rights advocate Bishop Juan José Gerardi and slain anthropologist Myrna Mack. He spoke specifically about Guatemala but also the broader context: the aftermath of the Cold War and the battles fought in its name throughout Latin America.
