Bob Epstein is
an entrepreneur and engineer with a Ph.D. from the
University of California at Berkeley. He is a co-founder
of five companies: Sybase, New Resource Bank, GetActive
Software, Zight, and Britton-Lee. Mr. Epstein currently
splits his professional time between his roles as
co-founder of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), Director
of the New Resource Bank and Trustee of the Natural
Resources Defense Council. Mr. Epstein is also Vice
Chairman of California’s
Economic and Technology Advancement Advisory Committee
for AB 32.
Julian
Foley is a reporter for Courthouse
News Service and a freelance writer and editor. She
traveled to Venezuela with a team of reporters in 2003
to investigate the relationship between oil and politics
in Latin America, producing a series of articles that
appeared in the Tucson Citizen and a radio series that
aired on National Public Radio.
Richard Plevin is currently pursuing
his Ph.D. in Energy and Resources at UC Berkeley, focusing
on the environmental consequences of biofuels. He has
published articles on biofuels in several academic
and industry journals and served as a consultant to
environmental organizations on issues pertaining to
the use of bioenergy.
Myrna Santiago earned
her Ph.D. in History at UC Berkeley in 1997. She
has lectured at UC Berkeley and at Mills College
and is now Associate Professor of History at St.
Mary’s College and
Director of the Women’s Studies Program.
Alex
Saragoza is Associate Professor of History
in the Department of Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley. He is also a member of the Seminar for
the Study of Corporate Concentration in Mexico and
is currently doing research on the privatization of
the Mexican economy, particularly as it relates to
the tourist industry.
Suzana
Sawyer is Associate Professor of Anthropology
at UC Davis. She is the author of Crude Chronicles:
Indigenous Politics, Multinational Oil, and Neoliberalism
in Ecuador (Duke University Press 2004)
and numerous articles.
